[Music] Goodwin house Incorporated has a mission statement that I love and it says that our mission is to support honor and uplift the lives of older adults and the people who care for them when I think about the question what does it mean to reimagine aging I think it means living into our humanity no matter what our age you think about when a baby is born the day after that baby is born he or she I'm gonna say he because I got a new grandson it's two days old he's older than he was the day before and for me I serve people who are as young as 62 and as old as a hundred and five but every one of them is aging and every single one of them is fully alive so when we think as an organization when I think because it's my passion about reimagining aging I think about saying to people don't be afraid don't be afraid of being alive don't be afraid of what tomorrow brings don't be afraid of what 10 years from now brings that's what means to me to reimagine Aging we're here to support to honor and to uplift you partners we're advocates we are here together experiencing aging together we are learning from each other and what does it mean to reimagine aging and in a way it's the question that has beckoned me forward for my whole life and the beckons forward this marvelous organization Goodwin house incorporated our staff members our board members our community partners but also the people we serve [Music]

[Music] I can say that as a residence I came to Goodwin house because it had a really stellar reputation of caring for seniors its mission is to support honor and uplift older adults and their caregivers and I can tell you they did that in spades for my late wife and and for me and caring for her and then also helping me to plan for my future but what I especially like about Goodwin house is that it is future oriented so it's aware of what needs are now but it's also aware of where we need to go to kind of care for the next generation I think they're very creative on reimagining aging they know what the next generation is going to look like they know what the market demands are they know even how residents want to be more actively engaged with the outside community and I think they want to create a Goodwin house that takes care of residents when that's necessary but also take care of people in a wider community they'll be engaged with the community they've already started Goodwin house at home to help reach a wider community so I like Goodwin house because it keeps thinking ahead it remains faithful to its mission but it's not stuck in place and it doesn't say this is the way we've always done it so that's the way we're going to continue to do it so and I think the residents are on board and they want to come along with it sometimes the residents even push Goodwin house that would reach so good for every much [Music]
