Sitting on 2 acres and taking up nearly a full city block, the Beehive Retirement Community is nestled in the heart of McCleary, Washington in Gray’s Harbor County. McCleary is a lovely and quiet country town of around 1600 people and home to the annual Bear Festival. Residents of The Beehive will find themselves within easy walking distance to the grocery store and great local restaurants like the Bear’s Den and Rain Country! The Beehive offers varying levels of care including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. The grounds provide beautifully landscaped and manicured areas as well as various walking paths and covered sitting areas.
Independent Living apartments are located within our beautiful property and have access to all the amenities! With a total of 13 various Independent Living apartments, they provide floor plan options including 2 large 2-bedroom units with full kitchens and bathrooms with tubs, 2 spacious 2-bedroom apartments with full kitchens and bathrooms with step in showers, and 8 1-bedroom apartments with kitchenette and bathroom with step in shower; available depending on resident preference, need, and unit floor plan availability. Independent Living includes access to a non-pay resident laundry room, a light housekeeping service weekly, meals provided in a dining area for family style eating, and activities engaging and entertaining for those wanting to attend.
Our Assisted Living community contains 33 apartments varying from studio to 1-bedroom, all with kitchenette and roll-in accessible shower. A large dining room allows for large group resident gatherings and is home to the snack fridge and resident mailbox. A large multi-purpose activity and living space is at the alternate end of the community allowing for common use spaces throughout.
Our “new” Memory Care neighborhood had renovations and construction completed in 2015 allowing room to care for 29 Residents with 5 Private and 12 Semi-Primate Apartments. The dining room provides a comfortable space for family style dining and larger activities while various spaces such as a sitting area, library, activity nook, TV area, a fireplace sitting space, and covered patios and a gazebo in the secure outdoor space allow for quiet and independent seating or engagement when desired.
The dietary staff at The Beehive are known for their delicious cheesecakes, tomato pies and weekly biscuits and gravy breakfast (open to all member of the McCleary community) and our residents look forward to every meal. While the atmosphere at the community is relaxed and laid back, there are lots of activities going on every day of the week that keep our residents active, engaged and having a lot of fun.
The Beehive Retirement and Assisted Living Community is proud to provide Medicaid funded services for appropriate residents within Assisted Living and Memory Care as possible based on availability and other factors.
