It’s far from busy streets and close to nature—barely any change of scenery for seniors who used to live in Glenelg, Olney, Sunshine, Brookeville, Clarksville, Lisbon, Unity, Damascus, Glenwood, West Friendship, Clarksville or other nearby areas.
Each of our 4 assisted living facilities is licensed for 16 beds by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), and is staffed with 6 caregivers. This makes for approximately 1 caregiver for every 2.5 residents. This is 3 times more than the DHMH requirements. At Kenwood Care, we felt that in order to provide the quality of care your loved one deserves, one caregiver is definitely not enough.
All of our caregivers are live-in caregivers who have worked with us for many years. We have a very low employee turnover rate, which allows us to provide the total continuity of care. Seeing familiar faces day after day especially helps avoid confusion for patients with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. We are also proud to offer awake overnight care, which means someone is on standby to assist your loved one 24/7.

Kenwood Care’s Dayton assisted living facility is the largest of the 3 facilities we manage. It features over 3,500 square feet of living space tucked away from the main road on a 3.7-acre lot. We acquired this property back in 2000 and made numerous changes to the layout and design to make this home more accessible and suitable for assisted living.
